The Fundamental Truth of Who We Are — Part II

The Fundamental Truth of Who We Are - Part II The first two truths I spoke of last month are: 1/ All Is Energy 2/ My Thoughts Are Energy Now for our third truth: 3. My Consciousness Functions On Three Levels This is one of the most astounding truths of our being. Within us, this very moment, are three centres of consciousness, each with its own dynamics, insights and laws. This month we will examine the first level of consciousness - the conscious mind. The Conscious Mind Our conscious mind is the field of awareness that accompanies us everywhere. It is with us when we wake up in the morning and it is with us as we go to sleep at night. Within our conscious mind, thousands of thoughts come and go daily. It is very active, constantly thinking thoughts. Thinking thoughts seems to be its main preoccupation. We are rarely without thoughts of some sort. As you watch and observe your conscious mind, which is one of the exercises I give my students at the beginning of their training, you will be amazed to notice how much "thought stuff" passes through its domain. Some of it is quite valuable [...]

Sound Foundations

Sound Foundations I've asked Steve Tsakiris, a brilliant and innovative sound therapist, to share some of his wisdom with our web viewers on this fascinating field. The following is what he has given us: Quantum Physics tells us that everything is a vibration of energy. Even solid objects like walls and mountains and our physical bodies, are vibrations of energy at different frequencies. Solid matter is actually quite empty when viewed from a quantum level. Our thoughts are also vibrations of energy. And now there is compelling evidence that these vibrations are made of sound. Our religions also seem to agree: The ancient Vedic scriptures say, "Nada Brahma" - the world is Sound. In the Hindu tradition as well as in the creation stories of many cultures, including the Aztecs, the Persians, the Inuit and the Malayans, it was believed that the Universe was created by sound. The Bible says, "In the beginning was the word...", and what is a word but a sound? Interestingly, even scientists refer to the creation of the Universe as a sound. They call it "The Big Bang." Taking this a step further, anything that vibrates creates a sound. This may be audible or inaudible. [...]

Practical Steps to a Sound Foundation

Last month I wrote that we live in a Universe of vibration and that we ourselves are Beings made of vibration/sound. We affect each other, our environment and ourselves through our personal resonance. Entrainment is the term used to describe the process by which one vibrating source locks on to another source and brings it into step with itself. So, if something is vibrating at an unnatural frequency, we can bring it back into balance using entrainment. Sound is a carrier wave for consciousness. We can project energy into sound by using our intention. Students of Mind Power know that thoughts are real forces. We can project these thought forces into sound waves and allow them to interact with any aspect of ourselves (body, mind, soul), or with another person, or even the environment at large. Think of your mind as the conductor of an orchestra made up of the different parts of you. Think of these parts — the organs and cells in your body, your emotions and thoughts, your soul — as instruments in the orchestra, each vibrating the essence of who you are as a unique individual. When everything is playing together in harmony you get beautiful [...]

The Law Of Change

The Law Of Change There is a law that has a constant and dramatic effect in our life, and that law is the law of change. The law of change states that everything is in the process of becoming something else. Change happens everywhere and with everyone and happens constantly. In the galaxies of outer space, where our sun will burn out in a few hundred million years, change is happening. In the subatomic world, where particles are colliding with one another and morphing into something else in hundredths of a second, change is happening. Everything is always changing. So too in our lives, change is the one constant that we can be absolutely sure of. So why don’t we live our lives acknowledging this and initiate change on a regular basis, thus putting ourselves in harmony and rhythm with this process? Why is change so hard to embrace? We must learn to be comfortable with change and eventually embrace it. The Mind Power practitioner works with the law of change, initiating changes through choice, will and practice. Initiating change while flowing with the changes as they happen, is a dance with life that the Mind Power practitioner loves to [...]

“What, Me Worry?” Ten Practices for Eliminating Fear and Worry

Long-time followers of my teaching, as well as readers of this website, know that our thoughts and emotions are vibrations of energy, and as such have a direct impact on our lives. What we think and how we feel are the two most important parts of who we are. The third is our actions. Incredibly, we have the ability to monitor and direct what we think, act and feel by the thoughts we choose. When our thoughts and emotions are directed in a positive way, they not only make us feel better, they also attract to us the conditions we are focusing on. This is sometimes referred to as the Law of Attraction. However, the exact same law is in play when we have negative thoughts or feelings about our life’s circumstances or ourselves. We must be diligent in monitoring how we think, so that negative thoughts and emotions do not find a resting place in our consciousness, then make themselves at home. Fear and worry are the two most destructive of the negative emotions, and it is these I will speak of this month. Fear is the intense focusing of your thoughts on something you do not want to [...]

January 2008 — A New Year

January is typically a month of reflection, a time to look back at past choices to see how the year unfolded, and to look ahead. It is a time of new resolutions and commitments, and to choose again. Choice is our ultimate act of creativity. It is the way we express ourselves. It is through choice that we navigate through life. The choices we encounter are incalculable. For example, think of how many choices you've already made just today. You have chosen the clothes you are now wearing. You have chosen what you ate. You have chosen a number of activities today, including the choice to log on to this website and read this month's Topic of the Month. Each day unfolds like this. Countless choices, many of them made without much thought, following the programming and habitual routines we have built for ourselves. When we are unconscious in the act of choosing, or too busy to notice why and what we are choosing, we cease to have free will and give up our powers of choice. Instead we allow our programming to choose for us. This works well if our programming has been carefully selected by us to assist [...]
